Attorney William J. Watson, III was born in New Britain, Connecticut, the son of William J. and Sharon S. Watson. His paternal grandfather was William J. Watson, M.D. who practiced medicine/surgery in New Britain for many years. Late in life he graduated from the University of Connecticut Law School and became one of the first persons in Connecticut licensed to practice both medicine and law.
Our Attorney Watson attended New Britain schools and graduated from New Britain High School; the University of Connecticut and the Quinnipiac College School of Law.
After graduating from law school and passing the bar he entered private practice in New Haven; he soon realized he could obtain extensive criminal trial practice only in the State’s Attorney’s Office which he joined in 1999. For the next four and a half years he served as a Prosecutor trying many criminal cases; that experience, and his willingness now to try difficult cases to verdict, provides his clients with effective legal counsel.
Will left the State’s Attorney’s Office in 2003; he practiced with Rome, McGuigan in Hartford for a year and in 2004 he became a partner in the Law Firm of Rosenzweig, Fagan, Sheehan & Watson in his hometown. He has known Attorney Katarzyna Maluszewski for the past 15 years and is pleased to welcome her into his practice.
Will is married to his wife, Kari, and resides in Berlin with Kari, their four children and their two dogs.
He has long been active in civic affairs; he served six years on the Berlin Town Council during which he provided additional services to the Town by working on the Ethics Committee, the Charter Revision Committee, the Technology Committee and the Budget Committee. He now serves on the important and sensitive State of Connecticut Judicial Selection Committee pursuant to a nomination from the State Legislature.
