Katarzyna Maluszewski, Partner

Attorney Katarzyna Maluszewski was born in Poland and immigrated to the United States as a young girl with her parents and younger brother. She quickly mastered the English language and is now fluent in both English and Polish.

She grew up in Southington and graduated from Southington High School. She attended the University of Connecticut and Southern Connecticut State University where she majored in business administration; she then attended the Quinnipiac College School of Law from which she graduated in 1999. She now resides in Southington with her daughter.

Since graduating from law school and passing the bar Kata has been engaged full-time in the private practice of law here in New Britain; she specializes in civil litigation (family law and accident cases) and Social Security Disability. She often serves as a Court appointed advocate for children in high conflict cases.

Kata is an excellent litigator and skilled negotiator; her experience shows that one should never be afraid of litigation but settlement achieved through negotiation often produces better results for her clients. Because of her experience she is a strong proponent of collaborative law which seeks to reach settlements with minimal Court involvement and also avoiding the high emotional and financial costs of litigation.

Kata assists clients in obtaining disability benefits from the Social Security Administration when their initial claims have been denied. She is successful in securing many favorable decisions for her clients. She understands that physical and mental disabilities can dramatically affect the lives of her clients and she will pursue all benefits available under the Social Security Disability laws.

Kata also represents clients in motor vehicle accident claims against insurance companies. The attorneys for the insurance companies are skilled at denying liability and minimizing the compensation that accident victims receive. Kata is a skilled personal injury lawyer who does protect the rights of her clients and obtains for them fair and just compensation.

Attorney Maluszewski is a member of the Connecticut and New Britain Bar Associations; she served as Vice President of the New Britain Bar Association in 2005. She is a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (IACP) and is an active member of the Central Connecticut Collaborative Family Law Group (CCCFLG).
